Jose Tarango 89, beloved husband, father and grandfather made his final journey to the Lord's house on September 12, 2013. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his children. In 1945 he married the love of his life Luz Maria and celebrated 67 years of marriage at the time of her passing. He was born in Ciudad Juarez, MX. Hoping to give his family a better way of life, he immigrated to the US and resided in El Paso for 61 years. He was a consummate worker and provider for his family. He worked at both the Fort Bliss Officer's Club and NCO Club in Biggs Field where he retired after 40 years of service. Jose was a loving compassionate and caring individual who touched a lot of lives. He was an inspiration to many and his family was always his priority. He was affectionately known as "Pops" by all his grandchildren who he in turn affectionately gave a personal nickname. He is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Adelaida Tarango; wife Luz Maria; daughter Irma Tarango; grandchildren Jose Angel, Monica and Joanna Tarango. Left to carry on his legacy are his children; Jose(Irma), Abel "Flaco"(Pat), Jesus(Monica), Isela(Andy Araiza), Genaro(Cecy), Gloria(Frank Meshurle), Luz Maria(Luis Gonzalez), Martha(Carlos Saucedo), Eddie(Terri)Quintanilla; 26 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Visitation September 17th, 2013 from 5-9 pm, prayer of vigil beginning at 7 pm at San Jose Funeral Home-East. Funeral mass September 18th, 2013 at 11 am at San Felipe De Jesus Catholic Church. Interment followed at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers; Jose Tarango, Abel Tarango, Jesus Tarango, Genaro Tarango, Andy Araiza, Frank Meshurle, Luis Gonzalez, Carlos Saucedo, and Honorary Pallbearer Eddie Quintanilla.
