Macedonio De La Rosa Jr, 87, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, on October 4, 2013. He was a lifelong resident of El Paso, decorated World War II Veteran who served in the Navy and later in the Army Reserve. He retired as a Cook Leader for William Beaumont Army Medical Center. He was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed. He loved watching football and was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed old westerns and war movies. He loved having his house filled with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dora De La Rosa, by only 22 days. He is survived by three children, Cleo Massis, Dora Alvarado (Fernando), and Sonny De La Rosa (Pat), eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren, sisters, Irma De La Rosa, Martha Hermosillo, brother Miguel De La Rosa and numerous nephews and nieces. Family would like to thank the caring staff of Rio Grande Home Health and Sierra Medical Center, especially CCU and Fourth Floor nursing staff. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Thursday, October10, 2013 at Martin Funeral Home Central with a 7:00 pm vigil. Funeral Mass will be held 12:30 pm Friday, October 11, 2013 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
