Michael P. Chiappetta, 1947 - 2014 Michael P. Chiappetta, beloved brother to Mary Ann Caster (husband Richard) of Magnolia, Texas, and John Chiappetta of Vallejo, California, passed away March 17 at home in El Paso. Michael was born in El Paso on September 25, 1947, to the late Laurence and Cleo (Moorefield) Chiappetta. He was a graduate of Burges High School, Texas Western (now UTEP) and UT Austin. He was a Vietnam War veteran, where he served as a scout dog handler with the 199th Infantry Brigade. He taught high school in Nordheim, Texas, before being employed for many years by the IRS in Austin, where he won several merit awards, and from which he retired in 2006. He returned to El Paso after retirement and was the loving caregiver to our Mom for several years before her passing in 2011. In addition to his sister and brother, Michael is survived by his nephews, Michael of Portland, Oregon, and Matthew Caster of Victoria, Texas, and nieces Melanie Caster of Magnolia and Ann Marie Chiappetta of Marseille, France, and grand-nephews Richard and Thomas Caster of Victoria. An inurnment service with military honors will be held at the East Shelter of Fort Bliss National Cemetery on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 10:30 am.
