Ora Alice Cochran Littlejohn, 104, passed away on May 6, 2014. Born May 1, 1910 in Hillsboro TX, she moved to Tornillo TX in the 1920's with her parents, Everett Lee and Mamie Johnson Cochran, three sisters, Evelyn, Myrtle and Dorothy, two brothers, Frankie and William, graduated from Tornillo High School, attended Sul Ross State University receiving her B.S. degree in Education and received her Master's Degree in Education from Texas Western College of Mines (UTEP).Alice's teaching career spanned over 40 years, teaching in Tornillo, Canutillo, and Clint school districts. Over the years she taught math, English, and science as well as being senior sponsor, annual sponsor, librarian, counselor, and coach of the girl's basketball and volleyball teams. She is a past president and member of Delta Kappa Gamma teacher's sorority. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters, her husband of 62 years, William (Bill) Littlejohn, her daughters Billie Jean Littlejohn, Sarah Mae Keller, and Betty Jo Dunbar. She is survived by her daughters Mary Alice Elliott and Eva Lyn Margle and by her sons William Douglas Littlejohn and Henry Lee Littlejohn. She has 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. She was a loving mother and a great role model for her children, students and many friends. She was an avid quilter and did all of her quilting by hand. Alice was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clint for 70 years, a church her father helped construct. Anyone who knew her, knows she gave her all in every aspect of her life. Special thanks to Dr. Dwayne Aboud, CIMA Hospice, and Martha Voiland and staff of Trinity Adult Foster Care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Clint. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina conducted by the Reverends Mike Keller and Gayle Hogg. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers and Honorary Pallbearers: John Keller, Ray Keller, Jr. James Littlejohn, Stan Littlejohn, Dan Stalnaker, Carr Stalnaker, Daniel Littlejohn and David Littlejohn.
