RICARDO CHAVEZ

Ricardo Alberto Chavez, 76, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on September 20, 2013. He was born on January 27, 1937 in El Paso, Texas to the late Edmundo and Francisca Tapia Chavez. Ricardo was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas. He was retired from the City of El Paso and the El Paso Community College. He also worked for a short period of time at Miracle Delivery. Those left to cherish his memory include the woman he adored, Victoria, daughters Elizabeth and Chifaun, sons, Ricardo (Emma), David (Laura), Micah, Michael (Crystal), and Ernest (Jennifer), twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, brothers Edmundo Chavez (Maria Elena), Carlos Chavez (Marta), sisters Rayo Villalva (Eduardo), Irene Daniels (Floyd), Irma Encino (Arturo), nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. The family appreciates all acts of kindness shown during this time of bereavement and his recent illnesses. We would also like to thank the staff of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Treatment Center, Kindred Acute Care Hospital, Saint Teresa Nursing Home and the numerous doctors and nurses who cared for him. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at San Antonio Catholic Church.
