Robert Edward Espejo, 81, peacefully passed away on November 29, 2012 in El Paso. Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1931, Robert served his country in the US Army, retiring as a Master Sergeant after 21 years. He then served as a USG civil servant for 20 years. His passion for crossword puzzles was only surpassed by his passion, love and dedication to his family. He is survived by his loving wife Carmen Espejo, daughter Deborah Carrasco, daughter Melissa Gavre of Lincoln, NE and her husband Steven, son Stanley, and son William Espejo and his wife Annamarie of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by grandchildren Joshua, Sarah, Tomas, Mateo, and Lucas, great-grandchildren Damian, and Dominik, and elder brother Louis Espejo of Pleasant Valley, NY. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Mohr and his stepfather James Newman, his uncle William Mohr and aunt Ione Mohr, and his eldest son, James Espejo. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 12:00 noon at St. Pius X Catholic Church.
