ROBERT KLIER

Robert Howard Klier born in Chicago, Illinois passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the age of 73. He was a graduate of Roosevelt Military Academy and worked at Sears for approximately twenty years. He was an active member of Morgan Park Presbyterian Church for many years and became a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church after moving to El Paso in 2010. Bob was active in many of the social events at Royal Estates and then moved to Palisades Assisted Living where he made many friends. He loved playing games, crossword puzzles and all sports. His favorite teams were the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He was an avid sports enthusiast and fell in love with the UTEP teams and followed their games with great interest. He never knew a stranger because everyone became a friend and once he met you he seldom forgot your name. He had a way of making you feel that life was quite wonderful and meant to be enjoyed. His favorite greeting was "well hello there young man" or "young lady" and it usually got big smiles especially from those who were many years older than he was. He is preceded in death by his parents Dr. Floyd Klier and Dorothy Lindsay Klier and his younger brother James Frederick Klier. He is survived by his sister Joanne Klier Foote and brother William Lindsay Klier, his niece Dr. Lindsey Foote and nephew Dr. Michael Foote and his grand nieces Molly Schalk and Emma Schalk who were the loves of his life. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church 1000 Montana Avenue followed by a luncheon gathering in the fellowship hall.
