Ronald Keith Miller, 100, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014. Son of William and Alice Berstler Miller, born on the family farm 2 ½ miles of North English, Iowa in Keokuk County. Attended the one-room Union School, graduated from North English High School; graduated from the University of Iowa in 1936, Commissioned Second Lieutenant, Marine Corps, Retired in 1958 as Brigadier General. Predeceased by parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, wife Edna Barlow of Oswego, NY, second wife, Marian Corbett, Mt. Morris, IL. Survived by daughters, Keith Miller of Sarasota, Florida, Noel Cathy of Denver, Colorado, grandchildren, great grandchildren and loyal nurse, Evelyn Calix of El Paso. He was a WWII and Korean War Veteran, and served in several combat actions; Pearl Harbor, Midway, Tulagi, Guadalcanal and Okinawa. He also served in New Zealand, Guam, Taiwan and several mainland posts. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Hondo Pass. Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 1:30 PM at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Services entrusted to FDA Kaster-Maxon & Futrell, 8817 Dyer Street.
