Ronald Lloyd Nanos, 60, loving father and grandfather, passed February 12, 2014. A lifelong native of El Paso, Texas, he was born on February 1, 1954 to Peter and Alice Nanos. He was a graduate of Parkland High School in 1972. "Ron" was a veteran of the United States Army and served 30 years as a peace officer and detective for the El Paso County Sheriff's Department where he received many honors and commendations throughout his career in law enforcement. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Georgia and Despina. He is survived by his wife Bertha, his sons Ronnie Jr. and Christopher Sr., his grandson Christopher Jr. and numerous brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 2:30 pm with Military and El Paso County Sheriff's Department honors. He will be greatly missed.
