Sheldon Hall, son of Arthur and Ruth Hall of Columbus, Ohio, died on November 15th, 2012 surrounded by loved ones at age 95. Because of his love of El Paso, he dedicated many years to civic organizations. He enjoyed promoting El Paso for tourism and the people of El Paso; educating them on the importance of their heritage. He was always grateful, and wanted to thank all those who helped in so many ways. The present condition of the Historical Mission Trail is due to the tireless dedication made by Sheldon Hall. It started with his efforts to restore the San Elizario Mission from 1985 to 1988. That restoration helped those communities take pride in their history and promote it through many community events. Mr. Hall is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Jane; daughter, Shelley Sutherland; sons Frank Hall of Dallas, and Steve Sutherland of Dothan, Ala.; stepdaughter Cabby Capshaw, stepchildren Lloyd Hamilton, Rhonda Peters of El Paso, Mary Gail Hamilton and Mike Hamilton of San Antonio. He also is survived by 17 grandchildren. Sheldon was adored by his children, step-children and grandchildren. The family wants to thank the loving care and attention given by Jorge Pedregon, Ruth Lopez, Marcos Cardones and staff from Envision Hospice. Services are being held Saturday, November 24th, 2:00 pm at the San Elizario Mission. Burial will take place at Memory Gardens of the Valley following the service. Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West; 128 N Resler Dr El Paso, Texas 79912.
