SOCORRO CRUZ â?? 91 Beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Socorro Aguilar Cruz, was called to heaven on March 2, 2014. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ted C. Cruz and parents: Patrocinio and Refugio Aguilar. She was the final survivor of her childhood family. She touched many lives during her time on earth and was loved widely for her work ethic, sense of humor, and love of music. She was active in the Ladies VFW Auxiliary #8782 and Segura McDonald Post #5615. She volunteered often at Roger Bacon Seminary and was a long time member of St. Joseph's Parish. She is survived by 2 sons: J. Ted Cruz, Scottsdale, Arizona (Barbara) and Raymond A. Cruz, Los Angeles, California (Cruzita); and blessed by 6 grandchildren: Alexis Christensen, Christina Campo, Joanna Benton, Adrianna Sanford, Cecilia and Patricia Cruz; 4 great-grandchildren: Tyler, McKenzie, Paul and Louisa; her beloved niece and advisor Lupita Vijil (Raymond) and Nephew Ruben Rascon, who tenderly tended for her needs, and numerous relatives and friends. Pallbearers: Tyler Christensen, David A. Vijil, Ruben Rascon, Frank Estrada, Carter Benton, Archie Candelaria, and Guillermo Sanchez, Honorary Pallbearers: Ray Vijil, Johnny Vijil, Sean Sanford, Salvador Avila, Jesus Bonilla, and Steve Campo. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at Roger Bacon Seminary @Frankfort-Radford Dr. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
