Obituary Condolences

Delma Ray Stacy was born on July 12, 1921 in Dickens County, Texas, and was one of six children. He passed away Sunday morning in his home after 92 years living an honorable, family centered life, D.R. joined the Army Air Force in 1941 and served in the Asiatic-Pacific until his honorable discharge in 1945. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the American Theatre Ribbon, and the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars. After the war, he worked for Western Electric in Dallas where he met and married Lula, the love of his life. They were married for 63 years, until Lula's passing in 2009. He worked as a farmer in Lubbock and a real estate broker in El Paso. Above all he believed in hard work, honor, and family. He is survived by his son, Kenneth, his daughter, Delaine, his grandchildren, Christian and Elizabeth, and his sister, LaNell. D.R. has gone home to be with his creator and Lula, his love. Interment will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 9:30AM (East Shelter).
