ARTURO ARAGON Obituary
ARAGON Arturo "Tury" Aragon, 68, loving husband and father, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, after battling, and ultimately succumbing to illness. Preceded in death by his parents, Nicandro Aragon and Eloisa (Fierro) Aragon, he leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Yolanda (Parra) Aragon; his son, Albert Aragon and wife Obdulia, his son Adrian Aragon and wife Arlene, his son Arthur Aragon and wife Kelly, his daughter Arlene Aragon-Machorro and husband Antonio, his daughter Amanda Aragon, his son Andre Aragon and wife Blanca, and son Aaron Aragon. He also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, four brothers and five sisters. Born, raised and a lifelong resident of El Paso, he attended Ysleta High School from 1957 until he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1960. After four years of service he received an honorable discharge and returned to El Paso where he attended the University of Texas at El Paso. In 1970 he entered into Civil Service with the United States Postal Service where he retired after 36 years. Following his father's passion for baseball, Tury played in Ysleta youth baseball leagues as a young boy and transitioned to a player and coach in the Lower Valley Semi-Pro Baseball league as an adult where he played with E.H. Baeza and the Ysleta Indians in the early 1970's and coached the El Paso A's from 1975-78. An avid do-it-yourself, home improvement enthusiast, he always wanted to make a better home for his family. Grand ideas paved the way for numerous home improvement projects completed with the help of his sons and brothers. Although Tury is gone, we are at peace in knowing he is now rejoicing with the one he loved so dear, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His presence will be greatly missed, but he will live in our hearts forever. He fought a long and hard battle and now, he walks with God. Visitation and Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. at St Raphael Catholic Church on Saturday, February 4, 2012. Funeral Mass will be held at Noon on Monday, February 6, 2012, at St. Raphael Catholic Church followed by interment at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 2:00 pm. Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL MARTIN EAST 1460 GEORGE DIETER DRIVE EL PASO, TEXAS 79936. 915-855-8881. www.martinfuneralhomeeast.com
