Obituary Condolences

Carlos Edmundo Aguilar 78, died April 25, 2014. He was born on November 16, 1935 in Chihuahua, Chih. Carlos attended Blessed Heart Elementary, and graduated from Cathedral High School where he starred on the basketball team. He was an extremely resourceful young man helping his parents in the post depression years by shining shoes, and helping his Dad repair brakes on vehicles. He worked at Gunning-Casteel delivering prescriptions and manning the soda fountain. He married Consuelo in 1957. He was the proprietor of several businesses including, Star Food Mart in Fabens and Aguilar Homes, Inc. in El Paso. He was a charro, bowler and avid golfer. Carlos was a father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. His sense of humor will be greatly missed. His last days were agonizing battling his COPD.God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb. He gently closed his eyes and whispered "Peace be Thine" Those lonely days of pain, those sleepless nights are passed. The ever patient, worn-out frame has found sweet rest at last. We miss you Daddy, until we meet again. He is preceded in death by his parents Maria Cruz Molina and Ygnacio Aguilar, his wife Consuelo Solis, and brothers Salvador and Marcelo. Mr. Aguilar is survived by his children Leticia Dahlke (Ed) El Segundo, CA., Lourdes Aguilar, El Paso, Carlos I. Aguilar (Detroit,MI), Susana Stresow (Paul) El Paso, Edmundo (Diana) Fabens, TX; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren;brothers, Sergio (Josefina), Humberto and Armando (Theresa) all of El Paso; nephews and nieces. Other survivors include numerous family members and friends. Visitation, April 28th from 5-9 pm, prayer service 7 pm at San Jose Funeral Home-East (915) 590-8700. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and aides that attended to him during his illness especially, Dr. Reene Martinez. Also, we thank all the staff at Hospice El Paso.
