CARMEN ANASTASIA DALEYOn August 12, 2013, Carmen Anastasia Daley (nee Zucchelli) passed away at the age of 93. Born in Wellesley, Massachusetts to the late Everett and Annie Zucchelli, she graduated from Forsyth as a Dental Hygienist. In 1946 she married the late Colonel Edward J. Daley and a spent the next twenty-six years traveling as a devoted Army wife throughout the United States and Taiwan. Retiring with her husband to El Paso, Texas, she served as the President of the Retired Officer's Wives Club and the President of the El Paso Women's Chamber of Commerce, was a member of the El Paso DIANA Club, volunteered at Ft. Bliss Thrift Shop and volunteered and supported the El Paso Kermezaar.Carmen enjoyed gardening, cooking, hosting parties, and volunteering; but her most favorite things to do were spending time at her cabin in Cloudcroft, New Mexico and her times with her grandchildren and Great Grands who she affectionately called her "Rug Bunnies".Known for her beautiful smile, Carmen was a friend to everyone she met and a devoted wife, mother, Grammy, and Nonna. She is survived by son and his wife, Edward and Guadalupe Daley; her daughter, Kathleen Avery; grandchildren Ruben and his wife Sherri Daley, Cecilia Daley, John and his wife Wendy Avery, and Kristi and her husband Chris Sirolli; and her precious great grandchildren Grayson and Sloan Daley, Johnny and Katie Avery, and Ana and Dylan Sirolli. Also surviving her are her sister-in-law Diana Zucchelli and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Waiting to welcome her to heaven are her husband, parents, brother Louis Zucchelli, son-in-law John Avery, and many dear friends. The family would like to express much gratitude and appreciation to the caregivers at Royal Estates of El Paso, Texas and Brighton Gardens of Columbia, Maryland and to Gilchrist Hospice Care for their loving care and support. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Matthews Catholic Church on August 31, 2013 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Carmen's loving, generous spirit, donations may be made to a favorite .
