Emilio Elenes, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away after a long illness on February 5, 2013. He was born on May 22, 1925 in Ysleta, TX, now known as El Paso. He was in the U.S. Army during WWII, Pacific Theater Campaign, Okinawa, and became a member of "Sacred Order of the Golden Dragon" while aboard the APA 228 USS Rockbridge. He was preceded in death by his parents, 10 siblings, and his loving wife Celia. He is survived by his children: Irene Gil (Jimmy), Mary Ann Elenes-Trejo (Robert Molina), Daniel Elenes (Carmen), Martin Elenes (Beatriz), Rebecca Elenes (Neil Hammond), Sandra Elenes (Fred Alcantar); 2 grandchildren they raised: Adrian Elenes and Tina Quinonez-Sanchez; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The Elenes family would like to extend their gratitude to the physicians, staff, and administrative services at Bienvivir on McKinley for all they have done through-out the years for their father. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 11, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home, 1755 N Zaragoza with Rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 9:15 am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 11700 Pebble Hills, interment to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with military honors, 401 S. Zaragoza. Services entrusted to Mt. Carmel Funeral Home.
