Ernest Alvarado, 51, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2013 in El Paso, Texas. He was a native El Pasoan and a member of the Catholic Church. He was a combat veteran, former paratrooper of B Co., 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, an All American member of the 82nd Airborne Division Association, the Elite of the Elite. Mr. Alvarado is survived by his mother, Mrs. Maria Alvarado; sons, Ernesto Alvarado II and wife Sally Ann, Jesus M. Alvarado; daughter, Akamie A. Fives and Husband Robert L. Fives; grandchildren, Derek J. Alvarado, Virginia V. Alvarado, Alexis N. Alvarado, TY N. Fives, Savanna N. Fives, and Elena P. Alvarado. Other survivors include sister, Luz V. Hankins and husband Keith R. Hankins; brother, Jose Luis Sanchez; niece, Monica M. Tew; nephews, Alexander D. Hankins and Victor G. Hankins. Pallbearers will be Ernesto Alvarado II, Derek J. Alvarado, Jesus M. Alvarado, Akamie A. Fives, Keith R. Hankins and Victor G. Hankins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert L. Fives, Alexander D. Hankins, Leopoldo Castorena and Anthony Tew. Visitation will be Sunday, June 9, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be Monday, June 10, 2013 at 11:30 am at St. Mark Catholic Church. Interment at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with military honors.
