EVARISTO MACIAS Obituary
Evaristo Macias, 93, of El Paso, Texas passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014. He was born in Durango, Mexico on April 6, 1921, to the late Agustin and Estanislada Macias. Evaristo Served in the U.S. Army Battery A 462 Parachute Field Artillery Battalion. He received the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Good-Conduct Medal, The Victory Medal Ribbon and The Bronze Arrowhead. After his discharge he was a Civil Service Employee for over 30 years. Evaristo is preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Inez Puga, Anita Martinez and Jovita Lozano. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margarita R. Macias, sons: Ricardo (Carmen), Jaime (Rosina), Javier, Charlie (Vita); grandchildren: Lety, Abel, Carlos, Monica, Elijah and Tristan; brothers: Manuel (Lola), Gilberto, Alfredo (Pilar); sisters: Genoveva (Joe) and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 am on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Santo Nino de Atocha Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
