EVELYNE BURKE Obituary
Evelyne Beryle Burke November 12, 1913 - May 29, 2014Evelyne was born November 12, 1913 in Wadena, Minnesota. Evelyne moved to El Paso in 1936 with her husband William "Bill" Burke and daughter Jeanine. Her husband preceded her in death. Evelyne is survived by her second husband Frederick Werner; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine and Charles Wofford; grandchildren Stephen Wofford, Michael Wofford and Susan Mead, and their spouses Mary Wofford, Rose Wofford and Michael Mead; great-grandchildren Robert, Chase, Stephanie, Burke and Jason. She was preceded in death by great-grandson Michael. She is also survived by her brother Dr. Clyde Kelsey and nieces Becky Marcin and Nancy Eargle. She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Kelsey. Evelyne worked for the El Paso Natural Gas Company from 1947 to 1978 when she retired as an executive secretary. She was an avid dancer, and spent many hours at the dance studio after her retirement. She was involved in several ministries at Trinity First UMC. She loved music and playing the piano and spent many years playing for Sunday services at White Acres Retirement home where she lived for the last 11 years. Evelyne loved life, her family and her friends. A celebration of Evelyne's life will be held at Trinity-First United Methodist Church, 801 North Mesa, Saturday May 31, at 12:15pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity-First UMC Capital Campaign.
