JOSE LUNA Obituary
Our Lord Jesus has called Jose Luna to heaven on October 27, 2013. He was born in Jerome, Arizona on August 26, 1924. Our beautiful dad, grandpa and great grandpa Joe was the rock on which the LUNA clan was formed. He was first and foremost a tireless worker providing for his family. He showed his ever-enduring love for all of us through his strength of character and ethical life. His life was filled with working with his hands and laboring in all areas from the streets of Juarez, Mexico to the shipyards in California during WWII to automotive bodywork in El Paso. The lessons to his children regarding the value of an honest day?s work have transcended three generations. Sr. Luna was often found working on Alameda and sharing his wisdom with the workers in the sales lots. He was a force to be reckoned with, always in motion, always making things happen. His legacy lives on in his children Teresa (Gene Almanzan), Yolanda (Donald Sarlo), Dr. Jose, Jr. (Julie), and Titina; grandchildren Robert (Sandra), Cristina (Peter), Andres (Melodya), Liz (Steven), Alex (Tracy), Rebecca, Katie, and Joey (Marivelle); and great grandchildren Sofia, Jack, Adam, Robert Martin, Karyssa, Julian, Lindsay, Noa, Christopher, and Matthew. His brother Juan survives him. He is now with his beautiful wife Josefina as they were together on this earth for 67 years, his mother Felix Gonzalez Luna and mother-in-law, Lola Ortega. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in his honor to the Opportunity Center for the Homeless http://www.homelessopportunitycenter.org/ and/or Centro San Vicente Familiar de Salud http://www.sanvicente.org/. Please join us in a celebration of his life. Mt. Carmel Funeral Home (1755 N. Zaragoza) Visitation Sunday, November 3rd, 5-9 PM; Rosary 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass Monday, November 4th, 9:00 AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church (1700 George Dieter Drive).
