BURGER Kum Ok "Okie" Burger, a.k.a. Chon Kum Ok, has shed her earthly pains for eternal happiness in the house of the Lord. She was born June 8th 1941 in Pung Chong-kun, state of Kangwan-do, Republic of Korea. Her mother, Park Sun Dok, died in child birth. She endured major physical and physiological hardships during her lifetime including atrocities committed by the Japanese during WWII and by the Chinese & Americans during the Korean War. She married her eternal love Dave Burger in Unchon-ni Korea in 1968 and with him, enjoyed 44 wonderful years traveling the world visiting not only Asia but Europe and the Americas as well. She embraced Jesus and converted to Catholicism in 1996 choosing to be baptized as Mary Selina. She loved El Paso and never considered leaving. Her zest for God?s gift of life was finally extinguished by excruciatingly painful head and neck cancer.
