LUIS DIAZ Obituary
LUIS DIAZ JR. 89, our beloved Dad made his journey to heaven on Tuesday Oct 8, 2013. He will be remembered as a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was born on March 10, 1924, a graduate of Bowie High School in 1942. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as an airplane mechanic in the Tinian Island. He worked as an Illustrator for Civil Service at Ft. Bliss TX and retired after 40 years of service. Luis was preceded in death by his loving wife Julieta V. Diaz married for 53 years and parents Luis and Librada A. Diaz, siblings; Ricardo, Robert, Arturo Diaz, Elia Mendez and Rosa Marquez. He is survived by his children Gloria Acevedo (Jesus), Luis J. Diaz, Elsa Chacon (Gary), Samuel Diaz, and Yvette Chacon (Javier), sisters; Hortencia Macias and Rachel Ontiveros, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and will always be remembered by his thoughtful message "Don't worry about me I am fine". Visitation: 6-7 p.m. Mon. Oct 14, 2013 at Del Angel Funeral Home-East with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 11:30 a.m. Tues. at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment: to follow at Ft. Bliss Cemetery. Pallbears; Samuel Diaz, Jesus Acevedo, Gary Chacon, Michael Chacon, Gabriel Chacon and Javier Chacon, Honorary Pallbears; Luis Diaz and Bobby Salazar.
