Luis Oscar Parga, went to be with the Lord on September 21, 2013 at the age of 59 after a courageous battle with cancer. Known to his friends and family as "Louie," he was born April 17, 1954 in El Paso, TX to the late Francisco and Sofia Parga. He died at home peacefully surrounded by family and friends. A loving husband and father, Parga was preceded in death by his mother Sofia Parga and is survived by his wife, Linda and two daughters, Belicia and Gina of San Antonio, as well as sister, Socorro Mena, brothers, Francisco Jr. and wife Mari, Rodolfo and wife Velia and Ricardo and wife Cecilia, Federico Holguin-brother in law and wife Marian, Norma Rodriguez-sister in law and husband Armando Rodriguez of El Paso. Louie was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, El Paso, Texas, class of 72 and the University of Texas at El Paso class of 76 with a bachelor of science. He worked in the medical sales profession for over 30 years where he made many friends. Louie was an easy going man, rich in his faith, loved spending time with his family, attending Aggie football games, working with animals, building air plane models and barbequing. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Oct. 4 at the Holy Spirit Church, at 8134 Blanco Rd in San Antonio. Rosary will be at 3pm, mass from 4 to 5 and a reception following immediately at the church reception hall.
