Magdalena Barnett Magdalena Barnett peacefully passed away on April 3, 2013 surrounded by her loving family after receiving the Holy anointment. Magdalena was born on December 30, 1951 in Durango, Durango, Mexico. During her 61 years of life, she touched the lives of countless people with her kindness and selflessness. Her advice was plentiful and she shared it with all, while providing a comforting heart. Her adventurous spirit took her to many places where she brought laughter, love and admiration. Her love and dedication to God, family, and life were immense and irreplaceable. As a wife, Magdalena was a soul mate that was happily married for 36 wonderful years to Joe Barnett in which they took on any challenge that came their way. They were so lovingly connected that they could read each other's thoughts and could complete each other's sentences. To her children, she was a friend and a confidant. They loved her dearly and knew they could always count on her to call just to see how they were and support them in all that they did. Weekends were always full of family, enjoying her wonderful cooking made with all the love in her heart. Magdalena was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Soledad Silva Balderas and Magdaleno Avila Sida; brother, Augustine Avila Silva; and sister, Alma Guadalupe Avila Silva. Left to cherish her beautiful memories are her loving husband, Jose Luis Barnett; children, Luis Hiram (Shari) Barnett, Lupe (Steven) Marquez, Carolina (Danny) Torres, and Robert (Evelyn) Barnett; and grandchildren, Magdalena, Melina, Diego, Noah, Luis, Isabella, and Mateo. She is also survived by her brothers, Hector Avila Silva, Jose Antonio Avila Silva, Gorge Avila Silva and sisters, Maria Soledad Avila Silva, Maria De Lourdes Avila Silva, and Maria del Rosario Avila Silva. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home, 1755 N. Zaragoza, from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Mark Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
