MARJORIE CARDON Obituary
Marjorie Josephine Cardon passed away on April 19, 2014, in Arcadia, California. Marjorie was born September 22, 1932, in Houston, Texas, to Clarence B. and Alice Desjardins Williams. As a small child, she moved with her family to Swansea, Massachusetts, where she grew up and graduated from high School. After high school, she attended Scripts Business College in Providence, Rhode Island and became a legal secretary. After working as a secretary for some years, she trained to become a court reporter - a job she loved and worked in for many years. She had two children - Joe E. Martin Jr. and Deborah Coyne Martin- by her first husband. At this time the family was living in El Paso, Texas. In 1969, she met and married William Afton Cardon Jr., with whom she had two children - Dawn Cardon Terrill and Shon Benjamin Cardon. Bill had 6 children from his previous marriage, and together they had a "yours, mine, and ours" family of 10 children. After the passing of her husband Bill in 2011, Marjorie left her home of many years in El Paso and moved to Monrovia, California. There she lived on the same street as her daughter Dawn and her husband and children. She made many friends in Monrovia in the short time she lived there, and she will be missed. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, her husband Bill, and three grandsons. In addition to her 4 children mentioned above, she is survived by the children from Bill's first marriage - Yvonne, Sharon, Annette, Dianne, Suzanne, and William Afton III, 23 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and her siblings Clarence B. Jr., Roger, Annette, Richard, and their spouses. She will also be missed by her many friends and associates in El Paso. A viewing will be held on Sunday, April 27th, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 28th, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1212 Sumac Drive, El Paso. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Bill. Nanny B and Daddy B, together again-together forever".
