Paula N. Najera, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, embraced the warm welcome of her lord and savior January 2, 2014. Born January 26, 1919 in Smelter Town, Texas, Paula cultivated herself to become fully immersed in all work she sought out to dedicate herself to and exerted her full potential with fervent passion. She made certain that the people that surrounded her were cared for first and foremost and always ensured everybody had a heaping helping of her hearty home cooking. She reunites with her devoted husband Manuel Najera, daughter Magdalena Greene, son Richard Nuñez and nurturing parents. Those remaining to preserve her memory with every beat of their hearts are sons Ricardo Najera (Brigida), Oscar Nuñez (Emma), Manuel Najera, Jr. (Bonnie), Roberto Najera (Sandra), George Najera, daughter Fatima Holmes (Gary), sister Emma Flores, 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. Services to commemorate the life of Paula N. Najera will be held Monday, January 6, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home. Mass will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
