Rest In Peace Master Sergeant Vernon Walden. He was one of finest Soldiers ever met. Served with him at US Army Air Defense Board, Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas from 1976 - 1977. He was retired by then. I was Active Duty. He was Army Civilian Air Defense Technical Testing Department. Met his former wife and daughter Polly Anne. They were very kind to me while serving at Fort Bliss. Thank you for your OUTSTANDING SERVICE as both Soldier and Civilian Army employee. May the Lord our God bless you and keep you forever. Amen.

Dear Polly and Carol; Your daddy was one of the first man friend I met when I moved to Greenville in the late 40's. He and I were such good friends and we had many great times together along with Juanita and your mom.
I remember when he was in Vietnam prior to the start of the war and he was captured. He and his mate jumped off the enemy train and made his way back to his home base..in Vietnam. He was an awesome solider.. be very proud of him. I know you will miss him dearly. Love to you girls.
