Obituary Condolences

William Allen Gearhart died Monday November 4, 2013. Born September 9, 1946, he was 67 years old. A recent resident of Cloudcroft, New Mexico, most of his life was spent ranching in Montana and Valentine, Texas. Bill attended school in Valentine, Texas and the New Mexico Military institute. He also spent two years serving in the United State Army. With strong family ties and values, he shared his abilities with cattle organizations, his community, and church. Bill was a past director of the Montana Cattlemen's Association, The Davis Mountains Trans Pecos Heritage Association, and Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. He was a Jeff Davis County Commissioner, elder in the Presbyterian Church and director for thirty three years at the Marfa National Bank. After moving to Cloudcroft he joined the Cloudcroft United Methodist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir. Preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Mary Martha Gearhart, and sister, Tai Gearhart, Bill is survived by his wife Marsha, son Paul and the love of his life, granddaughter Bethanee. In addition he is survived by his sister, Jessica McInnis and her husband Bill, nephew Ben McInnis and wife Rachel, niece Rachel Myers and husband Scott, and four great nephews, Levi and Ty McInnis and Brooks and Reece Myers. A Memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Marfa, Texas on November 15, 2013 at 11 o'clock, after a private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Children's Home in Austin, Texas or West Texas Boy's Ranch in San Angelo, Texas.
