Yolanda (Yoli) Parker-Lucero made her journey to Heaven on March 22, 2013. She was born on June 11, 1948. She was a woman of faith, a devout catholic and an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend with extreme generosity, caring and unselfishness to all that knew her. Yoli was a life-long resident of El Paso. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School and was the first in her family to graduate from the University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in Education. Yoli was an elementary school teacher for 30 years in EPISD, YISD & SISD school districts. Yoli had a true passion for teaching and left a significant foot-print in many people's lives. During her 15 year battle with liver disease, her amazing strength and fighting spirit beat colon and breast cancer. She was a member of Life Saver's Transplant Support Group where she educated others on the importance of organ donation. She was an active parishioner at St. Pius X Catholic church and an ACTS sister. She will be dearly missed and will live in our hearts forever. Yoli is proceeded in death by her parents Oswald & Teresa Parker. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Sal C. Lucero. Her son & his fiance Anthony R. Lucero & Christine Talamantez, Son, Ruben A. Lucero, Daughter, Laurie Lucero-Gonzalez, Son-in-law, Mark A. Gonzalez. Grandchildren, Nicholas Kaoz Lucero, Danielle Emilia Lucero, Orion Roman Rey Lucero & Sara Lauren Gonzalez. Visitation will be Monday, April 1, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home, 10950 Pellicano (915) 590-8700. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Evergreen East Cemetery. Thank you to all of the family, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends for their tremendous support and prayers these past couple of years. We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all of her medical teams from El Paso, San Antonio & Houston Doctors, Providence Memorial Hospital, U T Health Science Center-Transplant Hospital of San Antonio, and all those who took care of her.
