JOHN LUKE LUKOWSKI, M.D., went to the Lord's garden on May 28, 2014. He was born June 17, 1922 to John Lukowski and Lydia Walden and was preceded in death by his only sister, Josephine. When the war broke out he was attending the University of Miami where he enlisted in the
Air Corps and was sent to Biggs Field in El Paso, TX as a 1st Lt. There he met and married his wife of 69 years, Margaret Delaney, before being shipped out to the Pacific. Returning to civilian life, John graduated from Texas College of Mines & Metallurgy and went on to the
University of Texas
at Galveston Medical School graduating in 1954. He established his family medical practice, first on Ft. Boulevard, then moving to his building on Gateway West in 1961 until his retirement in 2001. A life-time member of the TAFP, AAFP and AMA. He was also team doctor for Jesuit High School and Burges High School for many years. Wednesdays found John, not on the golf course, but gardening and horseback riding. Summer vacations were spent on family camping and backpacking trips. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, and 6 children: John Bruce Lukowski (Nylah), Paul Lukowski, Sharon Endlich (Ben), Suzanne Lukowski, Mary Claire Jones (Gary) and Frances Iacovazzi (Peter) and his brother-in-law, Rex Thompson, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 5:00-9:00 pm with a Rosary Services at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Kaster-Maxon & Futrell, 8817 Dyer. Funeral service will be held Monday, June 2, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Kaster-Maxon & Futrell. Interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park on Dyer St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Child Society (10100 Monaco 79925), El Paso Humane Society or a
