DIANA MALDONADO Obituary
Our beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, Diana J. Maldonado, passed away peacefully with family by her side on 11 June 2014. Dee, as she was affectionately known and called was born in El Paso, Texas on 10 August 1947. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Maria Villalba and her younger brother Joe. She is survived by her husband of 45 years Joe, 3 children: Manny with wife Melanie, Tim with wife Brooke, and daughter Molly with husband Julio, and six grandchildren: Manny IV, Ethan, Ileana, Lucy, Isabella, and Christian. Family was the most important thing to Dee and she consistently strove to bring us together. Dee was a graduate of Ysleta High School and attended the University of Texas at El Paso and Sul Ross University. She was dedicated and active in all of her children's school activities, the Cub Scouts, and served prominently as troop leader and trainer in the Girl Scouts for over 25 years. Her family, while in Europe, was their community's Family of the Year for 5 of the 6 years they were stationed there. Dee's charismatic and easy going personality, generous spirit, stories, and humor will be deeply missed. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 pm Monday, June 16, 2014 at Hillcrest Funeral Home-Carolina with a Funeral Service at 7:00 pm. Burial Eucharist will be at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services under the direction of HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME 1060 Carolina 598-3332.
