WA MORRISON Obituary
W.A. "Tony" Morrison December 11, 1927-June 22, 2014 Tony was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Willard and Mayam Morrison. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Tony attended Roosevelt Military Academy in Aledo, Illinois prior to attending Colorado College and Georgetown University. He proudly served our country as a U.S. Marine during the Korean War. His career began in 1948 with the International Harvester Company, in Lafayette, Indiana followed by relocations to France; Africa; Little Rock, Arkansas; Roswell , N.M and ultimately Fabens, Texas where he retired as President of Morrison's Inc. in 1986. Tony is survived by Sonia Shirasaki who he entitles as "the love of his life" and "beloved companion", as well as her "wonderful children, who were the source of the happiest years of his life". Survivors, also, include his brother Bill and his wife Pat Morrison of Prescott, Arizona; daughter Danielle Bluehorse of El Paso, Texas; son Michael Morrison of California; son, Greg A. Morrison of Houston, Texas; daughter Kelli Lunn and her husband Phil of Richmond, VA. Tony was also blessed with 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins. Tony had such a passion for life and adventure. He loved the ocean and was an avid, incredibly skilled scuba diver. He explored the underwater in countless parts of the world. His love of the sea is validated by his wishes that his remains be scattered at sea where he spent some of the most treasured, happiest, fulfilling years of his life. For those of us who knew Tony and loved him, he will be missed more than words could express. But the memories will be everlasting as there was never a dull moment or a room without a smile when he was around. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East. Memorial Service: Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
