Angel M. Lerma, 64, a lifelong resident of Anthony, Texas passed away on July 4, 2014 in El Paso, Texas. Mr. Lerma, a Veteran of the United States Army, served in the Vietnam War with the 101st Airborne Division, "Screaming Eagles". He received several medals of honor with the most prestigious being the Bronze Star. After his military service, he went on to work at ASARCO from which he retired after 30 years of service as a Refiner. Mr. Lerma was preceded in death by his parents, Angel C. and Emila M. Lerma, and his sisters, Margarita Lorenzo and Antonia Mendoza. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Anita; his four children, Angel Lerma Jr. (Laura), Martin Lerma (Lluvia), Belinda M. Lerma (Gilbert Carmona), and Emily Ann Lerma; brothers, Jose M. and Jesus Lerma; sisters, Martha Hill and Mary Lerma; and eight grandchildren. Angel Lerma Jr., Martin Lerma, Gilbert Carmona, Jesus Antonio Lorenzo, Jose M. Lerma and Alfredo Sanchez will serve as pallbearers and Martin D. Lerma Jr., Marcus J. Lerma, and Jesus Lerma will be honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Vigil at 7:00 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Anthony, New Mexico. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 8:15 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church with interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
