Obituary Condolences

Our beloved Martha Cabello Kurita, 86, was welcomed into heaven on August 12, 2014 by her parents Carlos Cabello and María de Jesús Ramos Cabello and siblings Ninfa Porras and Carlos Cabello Jr. after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. Martha was born on May 19, 1928 in Saltillo, Sonora, Mexico. After moving from Chihuahua at a young age, Martha built her life in El Paso and raised five children with Dr. Kenneth Kurita. She was a longtime resident of the Mission Hills neighborhood. Family and Friends, alike, will deeply miss Martha's magnetism, known for drawing people with her caring demeanor, humor, fashionable style and incredible cooking. Left to cherish her memory are soul mate Tony Apodaca, children Hon. M. Sue Kurita, Kenneth Kurita Jr., Delores Kurita, Patricia Kurita, Isabel Kurita, along with ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and brother Humberto Cabello. Martha's family would like to acknowledge Guadalupe Lara and Envision Hospice for the years of dignified care they provided. Rev. Ken Ducre will preside over the Vigil on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 6:00pm at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home, 1755 N. Zaragosa. Pastor and friend, Rev. J. Marcus McFadin will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Church, 1700 George Dieter. Rite of Christian Burial will immediately follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragosa. Should Martha's friends desire, contributions may be made to the .
