Theresa Ann (Flood) Walker was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, June 15, 2009. Theresa was born on June 4, 1957, the third of eight children of Francis and Maria Elena Flood of El Paso, Texas. Her more than beloved husband and son are Michael L. Walker and Aaron Akhenaton Walker of Sugar Land, Texas. The loving family embracing her are her brothers and sisters, Judith Flood; Jerome and his wife Edna Flood, Kathryn and her husband Antonio Rivera; Michael and his wife Jody Flood, all of El Paso, Texas; Kellie Flood-Shaffer and her husband Michael Shaffer of Cincinnati, Ohio and Margaret and her husband John Rice of Belton, Texas. Theresa was the favorite Auntie to 21 nieces and nephews, one grand-niece and a brand new great-grand-niece. The family is led in prayer by Theresa's Aunts Isabel Flood and Sister Mary Kathleen Flood. Theresa was a faithful and unwavering friend. Her extended family, who gather around her now as ever, includes close and excellent friends so numerous only our hearts can hold them all. She is greeted at the gates of heaven by her "Angel Bear" daughter Helen, her infant sons Alexander and Michael as well as her much-loved brother James. Theresa was an active member of her parish, St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land, Texas. She belonged to many organizations including the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court 2402, Journey to Damascus and Habitat for Humanity. She worked for several years at the Administrative Offices of the Ft. Bend Independent School District. Theresa was a 1975 graduate of Loretto Academy in El Paso. She attended Texas Tech University and the University of Texas at Austin. Theresa was a talented artist whose creativity and ingenuity knew no boundary. Her grace soared around us. To say she will be sorely missed does not convey how we all feel. May she rest always in the peace of Christ. A Memorial Mass will be said for Theresa on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the Loretto Academy Chapel with the Rev. Father Blake Fry as celebrant. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations may be made to the Helen Sarah Walker Scholarship Fund in care of Mr. David E. Ellies, Senior Director of Development, Indiana University/College of Arts & Sciences, Von Lee Bldg. 214/517 E. Kirkwood Avenue, Bloomington, IN 47408-4060, dellies@indiana.edu /.
