Jose Antonio Castañón Jr. Obituary
Jose Antonio Castañón Jr., born March 19, 1942 went to rest in eternal peace on October 1, 2009. His father Jose Castañón Sr and his mother Magdalena Castañón preceded him in death. Dad, Daddy, Papa was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Bowie High School and was a proud member of the Bowie High School Marching Band Drum Line. He retired from the El Paso Independent School District - Transportation Department. A remarkable human being who lived his life as he taught it; noble, honest, hardworking and always giving to those less fortunate. He is survived by the woman he cherished and loved, his wife of 43 years, Margarita Castañón.
Any man can be a Father it takes someone special to be a DAD.
He would proclaim his proudest accomplishment to be his loving daughters, Magdalena Castañón-Telles and husband Elias Telles Jr, Ivonne Castañón companion Susan Baradi, Arlene Castañón-Ortiz and husband Joe Ortiz III. Although David Vasquez was not his biological son, he helped raise him and called him his own. He is survived by his brothers Juan and Mario Castañón. He leaves behind numerous cousins, many loving and devoted nieces and nephews that he loved as if though they were his very own children. Pallbearers: Elias Telles Jr, Joe Ortiz III, Victor Segura, Nicolas Ontiveros, Antonio Williams, Ben Williams, Jose Luis Vasquez and Alex Vasquez.
