BENJAMIN SILVA, age 57 of El Paso, Texas passed away peacefully with his family and siblings at his side on November 14, 2009. He was born on July 17, 1952 in El Paso, Texas. He was a 1971 graduate of Bel Air High School. He is preceded in death by his parents Venancio and Margarita Saucedo Silva and nephew Adrian Cano. Benjamin proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 14 years. He was a passionate Cowboy Fan and enjoyed listening to Spanish music. He fought a courageous battle against cancer to the final moments of his life. He is survived by his wife Patricia of El Paso and his 3 children; Monica and husband Buddy of Colorado, Ben Jr. and wife Rosa of El Paso, Angela and husband Philip of El Paso, and nine grandchildren. Surviving siblings include his sister Margarita and husband Guillermo Gonzalez Jr., Guadalupe and Benjamin Villa, Jose Silva, Juanita and husband Arnulfo Cano, Susana and husband Gerardo Flores, Valente and wife Tina, Frances Silva, Irene Silva and numerous family members and friends. The Silva family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, November 19th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Crestview with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Liturgy for Benjamin will be celebrated on Friday November 20, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. Mt. Carmel Mission with father Miguel Angel Sanchez officiating. Serving as Pallbearers will be Jose Silva, Valente Silva, Arnulfo Cano, Benjamin Silva Jr., Jimmy Cano, Ramon Bustamante, and Leo Garcia.
