Obituary Condolences

LAVIS EDDIE LAVIS, born October 16, 1926 to Henry and Esther Boxer Lavis, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2011. He attended Dudley Elementary School, El Paso High School and the College of Mines. Eddie proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. His business ventures included furniture, jewelry and electronics. He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Rachel Ovadia Lavis, daughter Cheryl Regan, and sons Jay Lavis and wife Ilise, Benjamin Lavis and wife Melissa, and Vincent Lavis. His grandchildren include: Christina Joy Lisowski and husband Joe, Joseph, Anna, Caleb, Alexys and Eddie Lavis. He is also survived by his loyal brother, John Lavis and wife Gloria, and his loving sister, Marlene Reynolds. Nieces and nephews are: Dan and Ellen Lavis, Jerry and Joan Lavis, Stella Lavis and husband Steven Clark, Tera and Kerry Jetmore and Sheldon and Nena Reynolds. Grand nieces and nephews include: Eric, Matt, Elliot, and Myles Lavis, and Kezia and Jay Henry Jetmore. He will be greatly missed by the loving members of the Ovadia family. The family wishes to thank Willi Apodaca, and her wonderful staff at Loving Hands as well as VNA Hospice for their dedicated care of Eddie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Hospice. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM at B'nai Zion Cemetery. Services entrusted to Martin Funeral Home West.
