JOE LEYVA Jr. Obituary
Joe Leyva, Jr., 68, passed away Monday, September 19, 2011. Joe touched the lives of many people with his smile, generosity and maintained a trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Mr. Leyva served his country honorably in the Air Force. He is preceded in death by his father Jose Leyva, mother Eulogia Leyva, baby daughter Mary Grace Leyva and sister Josie Chavira. He is survived by his brother Manuel Leyva. His heart belonged to Rachel Leyva his wife of over 50 years, his children; Annette Leyva, Joe A. Leyva, Terry Ligon (Darren), Edward Leyva (Blanca), Patrick Leyva, his niece Linda Chavira and his faithful canine companion Mickey. His joy belonged to his grandchildren, Willie, Vanessa, Christopher, Briana, Sydney, Taylor, Ashley, Madison, Sebastian and his great-grandchildren, William, Maxwell and Zoe. Visitation for Mr. Leyva will be held Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer of the rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East, 10950 Pellicano Dr., El Paso, Texas 79935 (915) 590-8700. Funeral Mass will be Friday, September 23, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Old Mission Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers are Edward Leyva, Patrick Leyva, Darren Ligon, Wilie Diaz, Jr., Tony Chavira and Honorary pallbearer, Joe A. Leyva. We would like to thank his many doctors and nurses for their never ending compassion.
