Luz Acosta Esquivel Obituary
ESQUIVEL LUZ ACOSTA ESQUIVEL, 91, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011. She was born in San Elizario, Texas and resided in Anthony, Texas the last 50 years. Luz was a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Survivors include her children, Raul Esquivel Jr. (Loretta), Yolanda Fann (Jerry) Lupe Tellez (Ruben Jr.), Gustavo Esquivel (Ramona) and Connie Eads (Dr. John Eads). Other survivors include two grandchildren whom she raised as her own, Rick Ybarra and Monica Provencio; 11 other grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, three sisters, Natalia Specko, Ramona Vielma and Juana Acosta; a brother, Trini Acosta as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Silverio and Petra Acosta; her husband, Raul Esquivel Sr., a daughter, Ramona Esquivel; a son, Roger "Tony" Esquivel; a brother, Chalio Acosta and two sisters, Juana Herrera and Dolores Almaraz. Visitation for Mrs. Esquivel will begin at 5 PM Sunday, September 25, 2011 in St. Anthony Catholic Church, 224 Lincoln Avenue in Anthony, NM where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 6 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, September 26, 2011 at 10 AM in the same church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
