Obituary Condolences

SHAMALEY Lee Joseph Shamaley Sr., 91, passed away on Monday December 26, 2011. Lee was born in El Paso, Texas on May 13, 1920 to Albert and Adele Shamaley. Lee graduated from El Paso High School in 1938 and the Texas College of Mines in 1942. Upon graduation he served his country during WWII with the United States Army-Air force and was honorably discharged in 1945. Lee then carried on his father's business where he acquired a strong work ethic at the age of 9. Lee continued as a small business owner venturing into retail with a Ben Franklin variety store and ultimately retiring in the automobile business at the age of 85. Lee not only prospered as a business owner but was also successful in real estate endeavors. Lee was a loving, generous father and a caring friend. Lee adored surrounding himself with his family and friends most of all. Lee can be remembered for living every moment to its fullest and cheering to the good times, saying "Cheers!" For those who knew him there was never a dull time with Lee. Lee is survived by his sister Ann Burrows, son L.J. Shamaley and wife Bernice, daughter Gigi Shamaley-Korz and husband Eric, son Cliff Andrew Shamaley and wife Stephanie, daughter Rochelle Lee Shamaley-Middleton and husband Chad, and nine grandchildren Jodi, Clint, L.J.III, Trent, Ashley, Rayce, Andrew, Kash, Caszner. Lee is predeceased by his sister Selma Shamaley Okies, his brother John Shamaley, and his daughter Coleen Shamaley. Funeral Mass to be held Friday, December 30, 2011 at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 9:00 AM. Interment to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 10:30 AM.
