Longtime Canutillo resident Daniel Orrantia entered into eternal rest in San Antonio, Texas on September 17, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 8, 1937 in Chamberino, New Mexico to Manuel and Salome Orrantia. Daniel served his country as a medic in the US Air Force, stationed in Seminole, Florida. He worked as a production supervisor at Weaver Scopes and later retired from the Canutillo Independent School District. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Emma Orrantia, as well his children Ricardo Orrantia, Melissa Orrantia and Alejandro Orrantia. He is also survived by his grandchildren Rene Orrantia, Patrick Orrantia and Carissa Orrantia. His surviving siblings are Manuel Orrantia, Felix Orrantia, Maria Gonzalez and Jovita Mendoza. Visitation will be Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home - Doniphan Chapel with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 21, 2012 at 8:15 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Canutillo, TX.
