GILBERT BURROLA Obituary
June 12, 1941-July 25, 2013 Gilbert Burrola, 72 went to be with The Lord on Thursday, July 25, 2013. "Pamp" and Grandpa "Beca" as he was affectionately known by his family was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. Gilbert was a gentle giant who always fought for the underdog, never hesitating to stand against injustices toward his fellow mankind. He was an avid reader especially of the Bible, a great helper in and outside the kitchen, and proudly never missed an Election Day or a Dallas Cowboy's game. Gilbert was revered by many as a loyal friend, great listener, and a true Texas gentleman with kind eyes, warm smile and jolly laugh that filled many hearts. His steadfast work ethic never veered as an artisan, welder, salesman, prison guard and ultimately maintenance director for Goodwill Industries to which he also enjoyed mentoring some of the clients. But his true prized possession in life was his family, especially his wife and soul mate of 25 years. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents Arturo and Catalina Burrola and infant son Gilbert Burrola. Survived by his wife Olga Burrola, mother Ofelia Jackson, daughters Lillian Morales, Michelle Valles and Elizabeth Georgina Burrola. Sons: Gilbert Burrola Jr., David Burrola, Raymond Burrola, Arturo Burrola, Eric Valles, their spouses, 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
