Obituary Condolences

Frank Raymond Arrufat, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed gently into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, Nov. 20, surrounded by his family and people he loved. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, brother: John and wife Deborah, Aunt Connie Castillo, and sons Paul, Matthew and his wife, Natalie, and their son, Alec. He is reunited in Heaven with his parents Frank, Sr., and Connie, and brothers: George and Richard. He will also be greatly missed by sisters-in-law Judy Craddock and husband Bo, Nancy Harden and husband Jack, and Janey Brennand, and many adoring nieces and nephews. Frank was born in El Paso on February 25, 1940. He attended St. Patrick's Parochial School, El Paso High and Texas Western College. He loved auto mechanics and aviation. He achieved the rank of Lieutenant as pilot in the US Navy from 1961-1966, then flew for TWA for 33 years. His lifetime project was restoring a FG1D Corsair, "Kathleen", which won Grand Champion Warbird at the Oshkosh Air Show in 2010. He was a member of the Quiet Birdmen and Daedalians, as well as a docent at the War Eagles Air Museum. His encyclopedic knowledge of airplanes and his patient, gentle manner enriched the lives with whom he came in contact. There are no words to describe what a fine, loving gentleman Frank was. The loves of his life were God, family and country. He never met a stranger, was so rich in his many friendships, and all who knew him loved him. Funeral Service will be at 9:30 am Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Trinity-First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at 11:00 am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services under the direction of HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME 1060 Carolina Drive 598-3332
