John Patrick Lyons, 68, passed away Wednesday, January 08, 2014. John was born, February 26, 1945 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from New Mexico State University and was a school teacher for many years. Retiring from teaching he worked for the Circle K Corporation. Upon full retirement he was a volunteer for Del Sol Medical Center, he truly loved being a volunteer. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Rosemary Lyons. He is survived by three siblings, Michael Lyons, Timothy Lyons and Kathy (Bill)Rose; uncle John Lyons; aunt Juanita Grimmett; great aunt Margaret Lindley; longtime friends Luisa Pullen and Family along with many nieces and nephews. Reciting of the rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m. and Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. We would like to give a special thank you to Del Sol Medical center, Choice Hospice and Saint Teresa Nursing center. Funeral services arranged by San Jose Funeral Home-East (915) 590-8700.
