Mr. Rodriguez,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice for our Country-first when you served in the U.S. Armed Forces and later when you served as a Law Enforcement Officer. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

When I arrived in Ft. Hancock in 1970 Joe was the first journeyman I worked with, I have always remembered working the river and running trails with him. He was a great teacher and friend. You will be missed.

Uncle Ruben I can remember a conversation that I had with Stevie many years back and I asked him where we got the itch to become what we are and he looked at me and said, “Primo we can't help it, it's in our blood and Uncle Ruben passed it on to us.” So with that said I want you to know that every day I pin my badge on my chest, it represents the day you first pinned your badge on your chest and the legacy YOU started so many years ago. We love you and will miss you but we all know you are far better off than us.

Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I, and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, that we are still. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference into your tone; wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without effect, without the ghost of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is absolutely no unbroken continuity. What is death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near just around the corner. All is well. Nothing is past; nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again.
