PASTOR ROBERT D. HOOKS 1947-2015. "Praise Be Unto God Who Gives Us The Victory, Through Jesus Christ Our Lord!" Pastor Robert D. Hooks, 67, beloved patriarch of his family, devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 12, 2015. Pastor Hooks was the founder and proud Pastor of the New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church for more than 22 years. He retired from the United States Army after more than 29 years of service where he served as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Rev. Hooks also retired from Access Administration where he was a Medical Claims Processing Manager. Pastor Hooks, adored his wife, whom he spent more than four decades with. He also cherished his children and grandchildren. He was constantly blessed to be involved in their lives. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Payton Hooks and Gladys Mae Smith. Pastor Hooks is survived by his loving soulmate, his "EVERYTHING", Bobby Ann Hooks; three amazing children: Anthony (Sharon), Cory (Amy), and Karmella (Lloyd); four wonderful grandchildren: Anthony II, Jordan, Taylor, and Ashley; a great-grandson, Braylon; 3 sisters; 5 brothers and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Mount Zion Baptist Church, El Paso, TX; officiated by Pastor Ponce Brown and Rev. Brad McNair. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the church. Committal Service and Interment will be at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Hooks will be deeply missed by his loved ones and friends throughout the world. He believed in treating people the way he wanted to be treated and he never met a stranger. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Dear Sister Hooks:

It was with sorrow I learned of the passing of your husband and our friend of so many years. I was out of town when the funeral for Pastor Hooks was conducted on Wednesday and did not return until Thursday night. Our prayers are for you and your family. May God's peace ever keep you during this difficult time of loss.

Even though you have suffered a great loss of companionship, we do know, according to Jesus, that what we may call a loss for us here on earth is really a gain for Pastor Hooks. All of us must depart this life, for in Adam we all die. God knows that It is just so difficult for us who remain not to have the fellowship with our departed loved ones. However, we are assured by Jesus that those of us who believe in him shall never die, but have eternal life. Let us, therefore, hold fast to Jesus' promise and look forward to a brighter day with Jesus.

May God's peace through the love of Jesus and the comfort of the Holy Ghost keep you now and forever.
