Garey Ryan Atkins, 67, Washington, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, in Washington.
Mr. Atkins was born Nov. 9, 1944, in Salem, the son of Frederick Earl Atkins and wife Lorrain, nee Morton.
He was united in marriage to Catherine Helen Longsdon.
Mr. Atkins is survived by his wife, Catherine Helen Atkins, Washington; his mother, Lorrain Atkins; one son, Ryan Atkins and wife Laura, Marthasville; one daughter, Ricki Torres and husband Anthony, Washington; one brother, Webster Atkins and wife Audrey, Union; one sister, Deborah Jones, Washington; four grandchildren, Reese and Gavin Torres and Chloe and Cole Atkins; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Atkins; and one daughter, Randee Lynn Atkins.
Mr. Atkins was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Ann's Parish Center, Clover Bottom.
Memorials to the Alpha-1 Foundation, in care of the Development Office, 2937 S.W. 27 Ave., Suite 302, Miami, FL 33133 are preferred.
The family is being served by Miller Funeral Home, Washington.

I also have good memories of when we were kids and used to play in his dad's junk yard, driving cars that would still run around the junk yard when his dad wasn't there.
