Wilson, Grover E.  
Grover Evans Wilson, 72, Union, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at his home, surrounded by family. Grover was born April 12, 1944, in East St. Louis, Ill., the son of the late Harley Wilson and wife E. Louise, nee Jones. Grover graduated from St. Clair High School in 1963, and went on to attend East Central College, Union. He was united in marriage to Judy Phillips July 27, 1963, at St. Clare Catholic Church, St. Clair. The couple made their home in Union. Grover was employed at McDonnell Douglas and St. Clair Die Casting. He went on to start his own company, Parallel Tool and Die, in Union, in November of 1976. Grover also attended the police academy and was a road officer with the Franklin County Sheriff's Department for three years and a reserve officer for 25 years. He retired from the Franklin County Sheriff Department Reserves in 2014. Grover was an active member of the Union community up until his passing. He had been a member of the Union Jaycees, Union Fair Board, Union Park Board, Union Ambulance District Board, and the Parish Council at Immaculate Conception Church. Grover also coached baseball, basketball and soccer and had been a board member for the Union Little League. Grover also was a very active member of Immaculate Conception Church and was often seen before and after school helping volunteer extra security for the kids during drop-off, pickup and Mass times. In addition to all of his civic work Grover had many hobbies. He enjoyed hiking, bicycling, fishing, was a martial arts instructor and gunsmith. Grover was an avid collector of baseball cards, butter churns and guns. He also was a photographer and especially enjoyed taking pictures of flowers; Grover followed yellow lady slippers throughout Missouri. He is survived by his wife, Judy Wilson, Union; three sons, Mike Wilson and wife Shelly, Pat Wilson and wife Karin, all of Union, and Tommy Wilson and special friend Angelica Lattimore, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, Jason (Ashley) Wilson, Matt (Samantha) Wilson, Caleigh (Darren) Brautigam, Alex Wilson, Josie (Will) Raftery, Peyton, Emma, Annabelle, Lily and Ruby Wilson; six great-grandchildren, Danny, Schylar, Piper, Wyatt, Zoey and Adaline; one sister, Rikki Hanna and husband Charlie, Union; one brother-in-law, Bill Phillips and wife Carol, St. Clair; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Grover was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard Wilson; three sisters-in-law, Doris Taylor, Rosemary Huff and Joyce Akridge; and father- and mother-in-law, William and Genevieve Phillips. A funeral Mass was held Friday, May 20, at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Union, with the Rev. Joe Post officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Immaculate Conception School. The family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Union.

Wisdom, William S.  
William Stephen Wisdom, 74, Jonesburg, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016, at his home. William, a general contractor, was born July 19, 1941, in Beardil, Wyo., the son of Raymond C. Wisdom and wife Hallie Marie, nee Sparks. He enjoyed having fun, loved Trix Milky Ways, Jack in the Box and Burger King. William's nickname was "Bear." He ran meat shoots at VFW Post 55, Berkeley. William was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. William is survived by his four sons, Stephen (Tammy) Wisdom, Scott (Deb) Wisdom, Bill (Heather) Wisdom Jr. and Brandon (Heather) Keene; three daughters, Sheryl (Jerry) McCracken, Angela (Joe) Gannon and DeAnne (Tracy) Harrell; four sisters, Venita (Walter) Kreyling, Charlotte (Alvin) Nichols, Renee (Benny) McDowell and Deborah (Don) Dannenmueller; two brothers, Donald (Mary) Wisdom and Calvin (Pat) Wisdom; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond C. and Hallie Marie Wisdom. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 1, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 904 S. Highway 47, Warrenton, MO 63383. A funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, Warrenton, MO 63383, for final expenses. The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.
