Anna M. Wessel(1931 - 2012)

Anna Marie Wessel, 81, Dutzow, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, in Washington.

Mrs. Wessel was born Aug. 1, 1931, in Dutzow, the daughter of the late Oscar Ruether and wife Angela, nee Ballmann.

On Jan. 24, 1953, she was united in marriage to Donald William Wessel at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Dutzow.

Mrs. Wessel was a member of St. Vincent's Church and the Ladies Quilters group.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wessel; three brothers, Jerome, Urban and Thomas Ruether; one grandson, Jared Brown; and three sisters-in-law, Judith A. Wessel, Lucille Wessel and Sophie Ruether; three brothers-in-law, Alfred Holtmeyer, Donald Heggemann and Arlie Wessel Jr.

Mrs. Wessel is survived by one son, Michael Wessel and wife Donna, Augusta; four daughters, Karen Holtmeyer and husband Gary, Dutzow, Jayne Juern and husband Larry, Wentzville, Christy Wessel and husband Loye, Lakeland, Fla., and Angela Wessel and husband Greg, O'Fallon; 11 grandchildren, Stacey Brueggemann and husband Dean, Tricia Rombach and husband Kurt, Kara Pate and husband Brian, Ashley Wessel, Clarissa Brown and fiance Tommy Specker, Jordan Futch, Graeson Futch, Carson Futch, Maisie Repp, Kelsey Juern and Dalton Juern; five great-grandchildren, Beau and Carley Brueggemann, Haley and Grant Rombach and Sydney Pate; four sisters, Louise Schwoeppe and husband Marvin, Margaret Holtmeyer and Bernice "Tootie" Borgerding and husband Carl, all of Dutzow, and Joan "Joey" Heggemann, Concord Hill; three sisters-in-law, Rosemary Wessel, Washington, Mary Lee Ruether, Dutzow, and Eileen Ruether, Concord Hill; three brothers-in-law, Morris Wessel, Wentzville, Paul Wessel and wife Ruth, Augusta, Alan "Butch" Wessel and wife Joan, Dutzow; other relatives and many friends.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, Nov. 17, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Dutzow, with Father Gene Robertson officiating.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dean Brueggemann, Kurt Rombach, Brian Pate, Tommy Specker, Dalton Juern and Graeson Futch.

The family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Washington.
